  To the Reader

The men I write about are Alpha males in every sense of the word. They are the men society warns us about. They are dominant males with controlling tendencies. They are the men you know you should stay away from, yet you are drawn like a moth to a flame.

If you are looking for a sweet romance, you won't find it here. What you will find is dark passion. Many times my heroes carry what would be considered an obsession for the women they love. Each and every character I write about has demanded their voice be heard. I have been true to that calling and I have stayed true to their personalities, which at times the reader may not always agree with. They are dark, they are gritty, and many times their love is dysfunctional but, nonetheless, it is real.

  Prologue: Hunted

  Chapter One

  Daisy

“You fucking worthless cunt!” Daisy never saw the blow coming that sent blood flying, split her lip, and threw her body crashing to the floor. She tried to back away, but she failed to put enough distance between them before Billy’s biker boot connected with her ribcage. An intense, knife-life pain seared through her, and she couldn’t help but cry out in agony.

“You’re not making any fucking money anyway, so it damn sure won’t make a difference if you’re all bruised up when you go to work.”

The beating continued, but inwardly resolved, Daisy was determined that this would be the last one she would ever allow. If she didn’t get away from her meth addicted boyfriend, she knew the abuse he’d been subjecting her to thus far, would pale in comparison to what he’d give her in the future. Every time was more brutal than the last, and eventually, he was going to kill her.

It hadn’t always been like this. There had been a time that she loved the feeling that being Billy’s property gave her, but that was before the meth addiction had taken hold of her longtime boyfriend. She had signed up to be Billy’s old lady; she had not signed up to be his punching bag.

As dangerous as it was, the only out Daisy could think of was going to the rival club to seek employment. She would have to lie to get the job, but she had no choice if she was going to escape the threat of certain death that came with staying where she was. Her plan was to wait until Billy left and then go to Dauntless Divas. Hopefully, she would not only get a job there, but she’d find refuge as well. Dauntless MC was the biggest motorcycle club in Louisville, Kentucky. It also happened to be the biggest rival to Billy’s club, the Hell’s Demons, and its most ruthless enemy. At least, that’s the way it was in the past. Honestly, Hell’s Demons couldn’t really be considered a legitimate MC anymore. Half of the guys were drug addicts, and ever since they started selling and doing meth, everything had gone downhill. Any respect they garnered before was long gone now that they were nothing more than a bunch of junkies.

Daisy knew that Dauntless MC didn’t deal in meth; it was the sole reason she had chosen that club as her safe haven. The chapter that ran the Louisville, Kentucky area even went as far as to issue a mandate that nobody was allowed to cook meth in their territory, not that Billy listened. He was deaf to anything but the call of the pipe and, lately, the needle. She couldn’t help but respect the fact that Dauntless MC didn’t deal in the drug that was ruining so many lives. Rumor had it they dealt in guns, weed, and women, but nothing else. Rumor also had it that any women who did engage in prostitution, did so as willing participants, and not because they were victims of human trafficking. She wasn’t naïve; she knew that nothing happened in this town without Dauntless getting their cut. Additionally, if it wasn’t supposed to be happening, Dauntless didn’t hesitate to put a stop to it… painfully. You played by Dauntless’ rules, or you got out of the game one way or another. In other words, Billy was operating on borrowed time.

Daisy wanted to be part of a club that stood for what a true MC should stand for—loyalty, family, and living to ride. She missed the freedom she always felt riding down the road on the back of a bike. She missed feeling proud to be a club member’s property.

Billy was headed for certain death. Whether he died from an OD or blowing the fucking house up cooking meth, he was on a path to destruction, and Daisy didn’t want to be with him when it happened. Rival club or not, Daisy was determined to join the enemy, the Dauntless MC.

  Chapter Two

  Preacher

“Oh, fuck yeah, baby. Oh, girl, nobody can suck cock like you do. That’s it, girl, take that cock.”

Preacher grabbed a handful of the girl’s hair while she all but swallowed his cock. As if her efforts weren’t enough, he yanked her hair more forcefully by the roots and shoved his cock even deeper down her throat. As far as he was concerned, she signed up for this when she made the decision to become one of the club sluts. He groaned as he emptied his seed down her throat and then tossed her away like a used piece of ass. She was property here—nothing more, nothing less. Her only function was to service the members.

“Get the fuck out of here.”
>
The girl wasted no time as she grabbed her clothes and rushed out the door of Preacher’s room. He was known for his callous way of fucking the women and then pushing them away. In his mind, there was no sense in leading a chick on and making her think you wanted her as your old lady. He’d seen too many members do that shit and then regret it later. If a brother gave a bitch any kind of encouragement, she’d inevitably take on a parasitic attitude, and then he couldn’t get rid of her. No sense in hurting anybody’s feelings was the way he saw things. Life could get real rough, real fucking quick for people hangin’ out at the clubhouse, and that included the women. Actually, the women could be even more ruthless than the men when they got into a brawl. Between the hang-arounds, the club sluts, and the old ladies, things could get downright brutal, and he had no intention of being in the middle of some crazy ass cat fight. Better to just let them know where he stood from the get-go.

He zipped his pants up and ran his hands through his long, black hair to push it out of his eyes. It wasn’t that he had a problem with getting an old lady, not with his looks. He was tall, standing at about 6’2”, and bulked up with muscle from his intense workout regime. His bright, amber green eyes popped against his black hair. He kept his beard and mustache shaved close to the skin, and he was always clean and smelled good. To his way of thinking, being a biker didn’t excuse being dirty or smelling bad.

He made his way out to the kitchen for a cup of coffee and eyed the woman who ran things there. She had aged out years ago as far as playing bedroom games with the boys, but she had stuck around anyway to take over the kitchen duties for the club. Now, she was more like a den mother for all the brothers. Preacher guessed she was like many members of the MC, and this was probably the only family she had.

“Need some coffee, babe,” he told her as he sat down at the counter, smacking it once for emphasis.

“You got it, big guy. It’s just like you like it, strong and black.”

“Need it. Didn’t sleep good last night, worrying about those fucking meth heads. How they can call themselves an MC is fucking beyond me. It’s an absolute disgrace. Hell’s Demons need to go where they belong—to hell. Just pisses me off they don’t want to play by the rules.”

“Yeah, they really went downhill after they got hooked on that meth. That drug’s been the ruin of more than one club.”

“Yeah, we’re probably not even going to have to do anything about them. Cooking all that shit and bein’ high all the time, they’re likely to blow their fucking house up on their own. With any luck, they’ll still be inside when it happens. The fact still remains… Well, never mind. You know how it is; no talking about business with club bitches.”

“They took their business to the streets. You boys didn’t have to tell anyone anything. Everybody knows they’re cooking meth on our turf. I hope they do blow their house up and every member inside while they’re at it. It will save you boys the hassle.” She smiled at him as she continued, “You know I think a lot of you boys.”

“Ah hell, girl, we think a lot of you too. It sure would be nice if it went down like that; might keep us from a blood bath. All I know is I want them out of the picture. It’s one thing to have a rival club, but it goes to a whole new level when the members are tweaking. They’re too fuckin’ twitchy for me; you never know what they’re going to do. You can’t kill them when they’re high. You shoot ‘em and they just keep comin’ at you.”

She patted his hand as she spoke, “All I know, sweetie, is I want to see you boys safe. If that means blowing those dipshits’ house up with them in it, then so be it.”

  Chapter Three

  Daisy

Daisy stood in the alley behind the strip joint owned by the Dauntless MC; it was appropriately named Dauntless Divas.

She grabbed the kutte she was wearing, with the Hell’s Demon patch sewn on it, and folded it up so that she could hide it behind the dumpster. She knew if she was seen with it on, she would not only be unsuccessful in getting a job, she was also likely to get an ass whipping for wearing it on enemy turf.

She took one last drag off the cigarette she was smoking and then tossed it down to step on it. In a rare show of bravado, Daisy squared her shoulders and made her way out of the alley, headed towards the club’s front door. If she was going to start her new life, it was now or never. She fervently hoped they’d hire her and she could make enough money to rent a motel room for the night, somewhere that she could pay by the day. Even a roach motel would be better than going back home to Billy and getting her ass kicked for no good reason.

She took a moment to let her eyes adjust to the dim lighting after she stepped inside the club. Music blared through the speakers as she took in her new surroundings. There were two stages, which was a good sign; it meant they would need a lot of dancers so they could rotate different women on both throughout the night. If she knew how to do anything well, it was work a stripper pole. She was so good that, at the club where she previously worked, they had often asked her to teach classes to the newer girls. With her long, dishwater blonde hair, deep chocolate brown eyes, and petite body, she drew in more than her fair share of tips. She wasn’t naïve enough to believe that Billy would actually miss her, but he would certainly miss the cash she brought in every night. Though he had accused her of not making enough money, it wasn’t true. The truth was that he smoked it up faster than she could make it. No matter how much she made, it was never enough.

She yelled out to a waitress that was making her rounds through the crowd. “Who do I need to talk to about getting a dancing job?”

“Take a seat at the bar, and I’ll get Raven for you.”

“Thanks,” she answered and then walked over to sit down and wait.

She noticed the bartender was headed her direction and shook her head to let him know she didn’t need a drink. It wasn’t, technically, that she didn’t need one though. Honestly, she would’ve loved something to take the edge off and quell her anxiety, but she just didn’t have the money to pay for it.

“It’s on the house,” he said as he reached for a bottle of Jack. He poured the whiskey into a shot glass for her and then, to wash it down, gave her a glass of beer from the tap.

She yelled out her thanks, but he had already turned and started walking down to the opposite end of the bar to wait on another customer.

“I’m Raven. How can I help you?” a woman’s voice spoke from beside her.

She looked up to see a woman with coal black hair and eyes just as black to match. Her intense gaze was hard to meet but Daisy forced herself, knowing she would gain no respect from the woman if she couldn’t even maintain eye contact.

The woman stood, patiently awaiting an answer, as another girl walked over to join them. Daisy figured the redheaded newcomer was Raven’s sidekick, probably there to make sure she wasn’t causing problems for her friend. She had been around the biker scene long enough to know the women ran in packs, and if you fucked with one, you fucked with all of them. All she wanted was a job; she didn’t want any trouble.

  “I need a job.”

“We’re not hiring right now, sweetie.”

Daisy couldn’t stop the tears that fell from her eyes as soon as Raven gave her the news. No job meant no new beginning, and no new beginning meant she had to go back home to her abuser.

She was shocked when Raven placed a hand on her shoulder and, sounding concerned, asked her, “What’s wrong?”

Daisy didn’t have the energy to prevaricate. “My boyfriend beats the shit out of me. He’s hooked on meth, and he just goes off for no damn reason.”

“So that’s why you need a job? To get the fuck away from the asshole? Well, show me what you got; go work that pole, girl.” Raven tossed her head in the direction of one of the stages.

Raven first led her over to the DJ booth so she could pick out a song, and then they walked to the side of the stage. They waited there together until the girl who was currently dancing finished her routine.
Daisy looked up to see the redheaded girl coming to join them. Yeah, she’s watching Raven’s back, for sure.

As soon as her song started, Daisy bounced up on the stage and started dancing. The crowd went absolutely wild for her. It was the one place where she was the master of her own universe. When she was dancing, she just let go and, for a couple of minutes, could forget about all her problems.

Every once in a while, Daisy would look down at Raven and her friend. They were smiling and talking quietly while they watched her dance. If the reaction from the crowd and the pleased look on Raven’s face were any indications, Daisy knew she had the job. She smiled back at them and continued doing what she did best—working the pole.

  Preacher

Preacher stood over in a darkened corner of the club and pushed down on his hardened cock as he watched the new chick dance. He wasn’t a man who usually got hard at the sight of a nude woman, but this wasn’t just any naked chick. The girl was hot, and the way she was working that pole was not only doing a number on him, but also every other guy in the place.

He wasn’t normally in the habit of escorting the women to work at the club, but Tiny, the president of Dauntless MC, had asked him to watch over his old lady tonight. She had a customer who’d been stalking her, and though they didn’t feel like she was in any immediate danger, Tiny wasn’t one to gamble when it came to his woman. Hell, everybody knew Raven could probably beat the guy’s ass on her own if need be, but Dauntless didn’t take chances when it came to their women, and they damn sure wouldn’t risk it when it came to the president’s old lady.

He tipped the ice cold beer to his lips and took a long swig as he continued watching the girl. Preacher wasn’t looking for an old lady, but the girl definitely piqued his interest; that was for damn sure. He tried to will his cock flaccid, but that wasn’t going to happen, not as long as that cutie was up on stage. He took another swig of beer and started tossing around ideas on how he’d get the hot, little dancer underneath him. He didn’t know if she had a boyfriend, and honestly, he didn’t really give a fuck if she did. It would be hands off if one of his brothers had already laid claim, but if she belonged to anybody else, all bets were off.
