He was the type of man to go after what he wanted, and if she happened to be with someone else, he wasn’t above playing a little dirty. The more he watched her on that stage, the more fiercely he wanted her in his bed and underneath him. Just as he was contemplating how he was going to make that happen, she looked over at him, and they locked eyes. His cocked jumped in the tight jeans he was wearing as he allowed his eyes to bore into her. It was his way of letting her know that, one way or another, he was going to make her his. She could come willingly or not; it didn’t matter to him. Sooner or later, he knew he would own her, and now, she knew it too.
Daisy
The tall, black-haired biker stood motionless in the shadows and watched as she danced. The minute she locked eyes with him, something inside Daisy clicked. She knew by his predatory gaze that he wanted her, and the knowledge sent an involuntary shiver down her spine. She liked the fact that he looked like he wanted to throw her down on the stage and fuck her senseless. She hadn’t come here looking for an old man, but whether she liked it or not, the smoldering look he was sending her way was definitely affecting her. One thing was for sure; the guy was definitely big enough to protect her.
She made her way off the stage and looked up to see him crooking his finger in her direction. Ah shit, here comes the inquisition.
She reluctantly approached him, hoping he didn’t get too in-depth with his questioning.
“Haven’t seen you around here before. Where are you from, girl?”
“Right here in Louisville.”
“Yeah? You work that pole like you’ve danced before.”
“I took a workout class and learned how.”
“You got a boyfriend? I don’t see a ring, so you ain’t married.”
“I had a boyfriend. I left him after he beat the shit out of me.”
Daisy jumped a little as he tucked her hair back over her shoulder, revealing the scar on her neck. “Is that where you got that scar?”
“Yeah. You ask a lot of questions.”
“Yeah, I do. When strangers show up in our club, I want details on where the fuck they came from and why the fuck they’re here.”
“I’m here to make some money so I can get away, and stay away, from my meth addicted ex.” She turned and looked over her shoulder as she attempted to walk away. “If you’re done giving me the third degree, I need to get back to work.”
He grabbed her arm, clamped down in a vice grip, and waited to speak until she met his eyes with her own. “I’m watching you real fuckin’ close, whatever your name is.”
“The name’s Daisy, and I really don’t care if you’re watching me because all you’re going to see is me making enough money to pay for a bed tonight. She jerked her arm away and met his gaze, trying to project confidence she didn’t necessarily feel at the moment.
She breathed a sigh of relief when he released her arm, allowing her to break away. As big and as strong as he was, she was well aware that if he’d wanted to keep her in his grasp, she wouldn’t have been able to stop him. She quickly made her way over to a customer and got to work. Though she had told half-truths in answer to most of his questions, she hadn’t lied about needing somewhere to stay tonight. She didn’t care if she had to sleep behind that dumpster out back where she’d hidden her patched, leather jacket. She had no intentions of going home to Billy.
“Hey, baby,” she cooed to a customer she had noticed watching her. “How about buying me a drink?”
Without conscious thought, her eyes flitted back to the darkened corner, seeking out the man who just questioned her, only to find his hungry gaze still locked on her. He could end up being a problem for her. He didn’t look like he believed a damn word she had said to him. She shook off the fear his intense gaze provoked and reassured herself that everything would be fine as long as she stayed away from him. She just wasn’t sure how easy that was going to be if she worked here.
She pushed the negative thoughts away and focused her attention on the customer leering at her with lust in his eyes. She waved in the direction of the waitress and called her over to order a drink. “Now, you make sure you give her a good tip,” she told the customer.
“You’re expensive, aren’t you, girl?”
“I sure am, honey, and I’m worth every damn cent you’re going to spend on me.”
“Well, I sure hope so,” he guffawed.
If the bastard thought he was getting anything more than conversation, then he was sadly mistaken, but he didn’t need to know that just yet. She’d do what dancers always did and lead him on to squeeze as much money as she could out of him before moving on to the next unsuspecting customer.
Chapter four
Daisy
Daisy ducked back into the alley where she’d hidden her jacket. After she retrieved it, she put it on and rubbed her arms over the leather in an attempt to ward off the night’s chill. She hadn’t made but twenty bucks. The customer she had chosen to sit with turned out to be a cheap ass. As soon as she stopped him from feeling her up with his wandering hands, he shooed her away, probably in hopes of finding another dancer who would be more tolerant of his groping.
She reached in her pocket for her pack of cigarettes, grabbed the last one, and lit it. She leaned up against the building and was debating her next move when she heard women’s voices. Staying close to the wall, she eased around the corner and peeked out as she eavesdropped on the girls. They were loading up Raven’s SUV, oblivious to her presence. She watched as they threw bags full of dance gear in the rear and then turned to walk back into the club. Suddenly, a crazy thought hit her. If that car was unlocked, maybe she could lie on the floorboard and get into their compound. Nothing would be safer than sleeping within the Dauntless MC’s gates. There would be no chance of Billy finding her there, and she could actually have a night free from the worry that he’d beat the shit out of her again.
Before she could change her mind, she tiptoed over to the SUV and tried the door. When it opened, she scurried in and lied down on the floorboard, covering herself with a blanket that had been thrown in the back. She could hear the girls’ voices again as they crossed the parking lot, making their way back to the vehicle. It was then when her anxiety peaked. What if the black-haired biker had ridden here with them? She slowed her breathing and consoled herself with the logic that no biker would ride in a cage when he could experience the open road on his bike.
She listened as the girls talked.
“No flowers tonight from your stalker, huh?”
“No, I think it’s just some smitten customer, but you know how Tiny is…”
“Overprotective,” they chimed out at the same time, giggling.
“Hey, on another note, could that new chick dance, or what?”
“I know! I was shocked. It made me glad I went ahead and hired her though. She could teach us all a thing or two.”
“Damn straight she could.”
“Yeah, I think she got Preacher’s attention too. Poor guy looked like he was salivating all over himself while he watched her.”
“Ha, ha, wonder if his dick got hard?”
“I don’t know. That guy can get any girl he wants. He’s just so damn picky.”
“You think that’s why he just sticks to the club sluts?”
“Yeah, that and no strings. He doesn’t have to worry about any hurt feelings, or falling in love, if he only sleeps with them one time.”
“That’s kind of sad. He’s a good guy.”
“Like I said, he’s so damn picky.”
Daisy listened attentively while they talked and knew they were on River Road when they kept going down a straightaway, not hitting any lights. When she could feel the SUV’s tires riding over gravel, she figured they had pulled up to the MC gate. A man’s voice, addressing the girls, confirmed their arrival.
“What’s up, prospects?” she heard the girl, who she recognized as Raven, question the guys.
“Fuckin’ cold out here.”

Hey… just think, you could be in the club dancing on one leg or doing push-ups due to the guys hazing you.”
“That’s a good point, Raven. I think I would much rather be out here, freezing my ass off.”
Once she heard the scraping of the gate over rocks, she knew she was safe… for tonight anyway.
Chapter Five
Preacher
Preacher ran his fingers through his long, black hair as he contemplated what in the world had drawn him to the new dancer. He wasn’t in the habit of getting a hard-on every time he viewed a woman unclothed. Hell, if that were the case, he’d always be hard with the way the club sluts ran around butt ass naked all the time. It was nothing for one of them to rip off her top and jump up on the bar to dance. Sex out in the open, while other members watched, was a common occurrence around the clubhouse. You did everything together in the compound, and that included fucking.
It irritated him that he hadn’t taken the chance to find out more about the girl, and he was even more annoyed that he cared. What if something happened and she never came back? He had no way to contact her and no way of tracking her down. The only information Raven would have was the chick’s first name and that was probably fake.
The thought crossed his mind that he could drag one of the club sluts into his room and fuck her brains out; it would probably go a long way in alleviating some of the angst he was feeling. The problem with that was he didn’t want a club slut, and he didn’t want a quickie fuck either. What he wanted was Daisy, and it bugged the shit out of him that he couldn’t figure out why.
He made up his mind that if she came back to work tomorrow, he was going to find out who she was and whether or not she had an old man. He didn’t believe a damn word she had said to him before when he questioned her. She could very well have been lying about trying to get away from an abuser. It wouldn’t be the first time a bitch had thrown a sob story his way. He also decided that once he got the truth from her, even if she did have an old man, even if she had flat out lied to him, he was going to steal her from him. It was the way things worked in his world; if you wanted something, you just took it. The only sacred vows were the ones made amongst brothers. What kind of man would let his old lady go into a club like Dauntless Divas without checking it out first anyway? If she did have an old man, and he wasn’t decent enough to protect her, then as far as Preacher was concerned, he didn’t fucking deserve her.
Thoughts of the way she wound herself around that pole, climbing it like it was a natural extension of her body, plagued his mind. The memory of her dusky rose nipples and shaved pussy filled his thoughts with images of pinning her down and taking every inch of her body… very slowly.
He forced the fantasy and visions of the stranger out of his mind. It wasn’t like him to let a woman overtake his thoughts. He was a player and a womanizer. He was a man who fucked who he wanted, when he wanted, and how he wanted. Maybe that was the answer. Maybe he just needed to fuck her, get her out of his system, and then send her on her way.
Something told him that wasn’t how things were going to play out for them. She had felt it too—the connection. He saw it when she locked eyes with him and couldn’t look away. There was something going on between them he had never experienced before. Now he just needed to figure out what the hell it was.
Chapter Six
Daisy
The next morning, even the attempt to stretch in the small area of the SUV took effort, and that was after her mind tackled the job of figuring out where she was after all that happened the night before. Her bladder screamed for relief even more than the throb in her head pleaded for caffeine. It was an ache only a cup of coffee could cure, but first, she had to find somewhere to pee.
She popped her head up like a little gopher to scout out her surroundings and ensure her safety in going unnoticed. No doubt, the members of the Dauntless MC would view her as nothing less than the enemy if she were caught trespassing.
Once she was assured none of the club’s members lurked within sight, she opened the door and quickly crawled into the bushes. She hurriedly unbuttoned her skin-tight jeans, cursing the extra pressure they put on her bladder, and barely restraining her cry of relief when she finally got them down. A groan escaped her lips as she felt her discomfort ease. Despite the incline, it was a challenge to scoot away from the fluid, though she managed it with some effort. However, it was because her attention was diverted that she didn’t see the approach of the large man, whose shadow now loomed over her and whose gaze was full of suspicion. He didn’t even try to hide the fact that he was staring at her shaved pussy until she rose to pull her pants back up over her hips.
“Oh… it’s you,” she said, unable to come up with anything else.
She jumped as he jerked her around to look at the back of her jacket.
“Fuckin’ Hell’s Demons! Are you kidding me?! What the fuck are you doing in my compound?”
Uh oh. This is not good, not good at all.
Ripping the jacket from her body, he gave her no time to answer before he started dragging her along behind him. He threw her kutte into the first barrel he came to that still smoldered from last night’s fires. The smell of burning leather hit her system as she listened to the man now dragging her towards the entrance of a large building on the property.
“Damn jacket ain’t worthy of being burnt in my fire. What the fuck are you doing? Trying to infiltrate the club? Real slick of you to get a job dancing so you could get Intel for your club.”
“It isn’t like that, and it isn’t my club. I got a job to try and get away from them. I’m tired of getting the shit kicked out of me every day.”
By now, they had reached the entrance to the kitchen. She looked around, taking in her surroundings, and the place actually didn’t look half bad. Unlike the club she had run from, these guys actually had furniture, and there was a woman running things in the large, professionally stocked kitchen. The woman behind the counter eyed Daisy suspiciously and then shifted her gaze to the man, who was still holding her by the scruff of her neck.
“You want coffee, Preach?”
“Yeah, and give my little prisoner some too.”
“Cream and sugar please,” Daisy squeaked out.
“You got a lot of fucking nerve, girl.”
“My life was in danger,” she said in her defense, trying to mitigate some of his anger.
“Your life is going to be in danger when Raven finds out you used her to get a job. You’ll be lucky if she doesn’t kick your ass. Believe me, you don’t want that.”
“I was desperate.”
“I’m not letting you out of my fucking sight, you sneaky little snake. We will be talking to the president.”
Daisy felt like she’d been gut punched. This wasn’t good, not good at all.
Preacher
As pissed off as he was when he walked up on that sneaky little bitch taking a piss in his bushes, there was a part of him that was glad to see her. This might actually work out in his favor. Preacher knew Tiny would put her under his watch now. It was just the way his president operated. It’s what he did when Talon brought his lawyer home, and it’s what he would do now. At least, that’s what Preacher hoped would happen. She would be placed under his watch, and he wouldn’t let her out of his sight. Maybe he could fuck the little bitch now and get her out of his system.
“Come on, you’re done with that coffee. Get your ass up,” he growled, jerking her so hard she almost spilled what was left in her mug. He noted that Becky eyed him disapprovingly, like she wanted to say something, like he was being too rough on the girl. She stopped when he cut his eyes at her, understanding his silent warning to not get involved.
Just as Preacher started to drag the girl towards Tiny’s office, his president came into the kitchen and saved him the trip. Tiny looked at them curiously, pushing his glasses down on his nose and eying the two of them like he knew something was off about the situation.
“Found her out in the bushe
s, taking a piss. I’m assuming she got in after she pulled a stowaway and snuck into Raven’s SUV last night.”
“What did you do that for, little girl?” Tiny raised his hand to silence Preacher when he started to answer for her. Between what she had told him last night and what Raven had said about her, Preacher figured he already knew the girl’s reasoning. Tiny was right though. It was probably best to see if the girl would tell the truth.
“Trying to get away from my old man. He’s a meth head, and I’m tired of him beating the shit out of me for no reason.”
“What club you part of, girl?”
“I was in Hell’s Demons but I ain’t no more.”
“I burned her fucking colors. They ain’t even worthy of being burned but I’ll be damned if she’s going to wear them in Dauntless territory.”
“I know that’s right,” Tiny answered him.
Preacher watched as Tiny picked up his phone to call for Raven.
“You better hope she doesn’t beat your ass when she gets in here. I guarantee, pissed ain’t even gonna begin to describe how mad she’s gonna be,” Tiny stated, raising a brow at the girl.
Preacher looked up to see his president’s old lady walk in just as Tiny finished warning the girl of her impending ass whipping. Raven sauntered her way into the kitchen and stood beside her old man.
“What the fuck are you doing, hiring a chick from a rival club?”
“Baby, I didn’t know that. Why the fuck didn’t you tell me that, Daisy?”
“I knew you wouldn’t hire me, and I needed a job to get away from my old man before he killed me.”
“You fuckin’ lying ass bitch!”
Preacher jerked Daisy out of the way when Raven lunged for her.
“Hold on now, babe. It ain’t much different than how I rescued you from that lone biker,” Tiny said in Daisy’s defense.
